Ethiopia’s National Electoral Board has announced that nearly 37 million citizens have already registered to take part in the general elections scheduled for June 1.
Launched on March 7, the voter registration process combines both digital and manual methods to reach a wider population.
According to the figures released, women account for more than 16.8 million of registered voters, compared to over 20.1 million men.
The electoral body stated that registration will continue throughout April, while assuring that preparations for the vote are progressing according to schedule.
