On June 2, 2026, Nasser Bourita received Chris Bryant, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Trade and Trade Policy, in Rabat. A clearly stated economic ambition stood at the centre of their discussions.
The United Kingdom viewed Morocco as a land of opportunity and expressed its desire to double the volume of trade between the two countries over the following five to seven years.
This ambition was supported by the Kingdom’s strategic location, the momentum of its investments and the major transformation projects it was implementing.
Chris Bryant expressed the determination of British companies to contribute to this transformation and strengthen their presence in Morocco.
The British official was accompanied by around fifty companies with expertise in areas including the organization of major international sporting events. London expressed its willingness to work with Rabat to contribute to the success of upcoming events, particularly the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The areas identified included infrastructure, security, major-event management, supporter services and planning for their economic and territorial legacy.
The meeting therefore placed Moroccan-British relations within an investment-oriented approach focused on the delivery of concrete projects. Rabat and London expressed their determination to transform their political closeness into a denser and more ambitious commercial partnership.
