Germany has reaffirmed the “great importance” it places on the strategic, multidimensional, and privileged partnership between Morocco and the European Union, following the rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on the fisheries and agricultural agreements between the EU and Morocco.

Through the spokesperson of its Federal Foreign Ministry, Germany emphasized in a statement that the EU-Morocco relations, which are broad and long-standing, are expected to deepen further. The German authorities also recalled the joint statement issued by the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, and the EU High Representative, Josep Borrell, following the CJEU decision.

This joint statement, the German foreign ministry spokesperson noted, reaffirms the EU’s commitment to preserving and strengthening its close relations with Morocco in all areas, in line with the principle of "pacta sunt servanda."

This consideration, the same source explains, constitutes a rare political act that highlights the importance of Morocco and the EU's partnership with the Kingdom. Germany thus appreciates the "great value" that the EU attaches to "its strategic partnership with Morocco, which is long-standing, broad, and deep."

The German Federal Foreign Ministry, took note of the CJEU's decision, also recalled the strengthening of relations between Berlin and Rabat, thanks to the strategic dialogue held at the level of the foreign ministers of both countries.
