The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, Akinwumi Adesina, praised Morocco's achievements under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Abidjan. "Thanks to the enlightened vision of His Majesty the King, Morocco has made significant progress in several areas," Adesina said during a press meeting at the Annual Meetings of the AfDB, held from May 26 to 30 in Abidjan.

Reflecting on Morocco's cooperation with the AfDB, which he described as "excellent," Adesina mentioned several projects funded by the African institution, including the Tanger Med port and the Nador West Med port complex project.

"The AfDB has always supported Morocco in everything it undertakes and will continue to do so," he emphasized, highlighting the progress made in terms of social protection coverage.

The AfDB president also celebrated the success of the last two editions of the Africa Investment Forum, organized in Morocco.

Held this year under the theme "Maximizing Africa's Capital to Drive Development," the AfDB Annual Meetings aim to identify and leverage the opportunities offered by Africa’s human, natural, financial, and trade capital as the main lever for the continent's structural transformation.

This event, which gathers over 3,000 participants, includes the 60th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Bank and the 51st Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the African Development Fund
