The African Atlantic Gas Pipeline Project, linking Nigeria to Morocco, presents a unique opportunity for regional integration, stated Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah.

“This project, which is the result of the far-sighted vision of King Mohammed VI for a unified and prosperous Africa, will allow for a better allocation of Africa’s natural resources by facilitating access to energy in the countries it crosses,” emphasized Minister Nadia Fettah in an interview with MAP on the sidelines of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings, held in Abidjan until May 30.

In the same context, the Royal Initiative aimed at facilitating access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean will help end the isolation of these landlocked nations by connecting them to the Atlantic coast of the continent, which holds enormous economic potential, noted Ms. Fettah.

According to the Minister, the construction of a regional market for processed raw materials should be encouraged, relying in particular on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), as well as on other major pan-African projects that promote co-development and shared progress.
