Formerly known as Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, the Gorilla Forest Lodge will reopen its doors in May. This premier luxury lodge, nestled in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda, is renowned for its close proximity to mountain gorillas and its commitment to sustainable tourism.

Located in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is surrounded by primary tropical rainforest, mist-filled valleys, and a peaceful atmosphere. It is one of the best-located luxury lodges in Uganda for gorilla trekking.

The camp features just 10 spacious and luxurious tents, each adorned with indigenous prints and built using natural materials. Each tent includes an en-suite bathroom with a stone shower and an island bathtub, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of adventure. The design of the camp blends harmoniously with the surrounding rainforest, offering seclusion and natural immersion.

Situated at the heart of the park, the camp is only a five-minute walk from the Uganda Wildlife Authority's headquarters, the starting point for gorilla observation treks.

Due to its unique location, the camp is frequently visited by gorilla families, providing visitors with rare and magical encounters. In addition to gorilla treks, guests can enjoy forest walks, birdwatching excursions, and safaris in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is actively involved in community and conservation efforts.

Visitors can participate in philanthropic projects, such as visiting the Bwindi community hospital, supporting the Bwindi women’s cycling business, and learning about the Batwa people through cultural experiences.
