The African Performing Arts Market (MASA) Festival in Abidjan is celebrating its 13th edition, which will continue until April 20th.

The central theme of the festival this year is "Youth, innovation, and entrepreneurship: levers for the development of African performing arts industries," with Rwanda being honored as the guest country.

This year's festival has introduced several new features, including a children's village, an award for the best female artist of the edition, the MASA Elephant, an innovation village, and the concept "Abidjan, the city that never sleeps at night."

The African Performing Arts Market in Abidjan is hosting 59 countries, over 1,000 artists, 300 performances, and 105 professional buyers, according to MASA's general director, Abou Kamaté.

The event's schedule includes circus acts, dance performances, music concerts, and comedy shows. MASA showcases seven disciplines: theatre, music, dance, circus, puppetry, comedy, storytelling, and slam poetry.

As an international cultural biennial, MASA provides a platform for promoting, networking, showcasing, developing, and professionalizing the performing arts.
