The Moroccan flag was recently raised at the Christophe de Margerie Community School in Brazzaville during the institution’s open days.
The symbolic gesture highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to Africa’s development and its youth.
On the occasion, Morocco’s Ambassador to the Republic of Congo, Najoua El Berrak, presented the school with an educational mural entitled “Here Grow the Pioneers of Africa.”
The artwork depicts children from different continents gathered aboard a Moroccan horse-drawn carriage, symbolizing the values of dialogue, diversity and cooperation.
“By raising the Kingdom’s flag at this school, we affirm that Morocco’s commitment to Africa begins with its children,” El Berrak told MAP. She described the pupils as “the pioneers of tomorrow’s Africa,” adding that Morocco intends to support them on their journey and grow alongside them.
The initiative is part of a partnership between the Moroccan Embassy and the school in the fields of education and childhood. It also reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to South-South cooperation.
Further joint projects are expected to be developed with the school and UNESCO’s Brazzaville Office, according to the Moroccan diplomat.
Inaugurated last February by Congolese President Denis Sassou N’Guesso, the Christophe de Margerie Community School has a capacity of 630 pupils. The institution aims to become a pilot model combining academic excellence, international openness and environmental education.
