Morocco has been awarded the Gold Prize of the Malabo Biennial Review of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), achieving the highest overall score of 8.15 out of 10, in recognition of its significant progress in agricultural transformation across the continent.
The distinction was awarded during the 5th review cycle, held in Windhoek, Namibia, as announced by the African Union Commission.
Morocco thus stands out for its consistent performance, having previously received the Silver Prize in the previous cycle and ranked among the top-performing countries in earlier editions.
This achievement is largely attributed to its commitment to the Malabo Declaration, which aims to accelerate agricultural growth and strengthen sector transformation.
In this ranking, the Bronze Prize was awarded to Egypt, with a score of 7.46 out of 10. Somalia distinguished itself by winning the award for the most improved country, with a 105% increase. Meanwhile, Southern Africa was recognized for the best regional performance, with a score of 5.77 out of 10.
Established in 2014, the Malabo Biennial Review is the main African mechanism for monitoring and evaluating progress in the agricultural sector.
