The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has terminated its contract with the national football team coach, Rigobert Song. And it was its president, Samuel Eto'o, who announced and justified it.

Samuel Eto'o got straight to the point in addressing the dismissal of his former teammate Rigo. Results were lacking, and the decision was necessary, he explained in an interview with a French channel.

The decision was formalized through a brief statement. It can be read that the Secretary-General of FECAFOOT, Blaise Djounang, thanked Song and his assistants for their dedication to the nation's service, without giving the reason for the termination of their contracts.

"In the coming days, details of the recruitment process for a new coach for the Indomitable Lions will be announced," Djounang announced, without providing specifics.

The former captain and star of Cameroonian football, who had been at the helm of the national team since 2022, helped the team qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar shortly after his appointment. However, his record with the Indomitable Lions is limited to six wins out of 23 matches.
