Organized by the Policy Center for the New South, the Africa Economic Symposium (AES) is holding its third edition on July 14–15, 2025, in Rabat, under the theme of boldness in the face of global transformations.
The Africa Economic Symposium brings together leading economists, policymakers, and academics to develop new strategies for economic development in Africa. This year’s theme focuses on Africa’s strategic responses to global economic shifts, structured around two main pillars: “Macroeconomic Policy Challenges”, addressing issues such as inflation, currency volatility, and fiscal pressures; and “Boosting Africa’s Economic Transformation”, highlighting initiatives like the AfCFTA, economic corridors, central bank digital currencies, and new development financing models beyond traditional aid, according to the Policy Center for the New South, the event’s founder and organizer.
The think tank emphasizes that it leveraged its extensive experience from successful events such as The Atlantic Dialogues and APSACO to ensure the success of this symposium.
