Michael Randrianirina, President of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar, has announced the dissolution of the government, according to a statement issued by the presidency on Monday evening.
The statement specifies that, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, the sitting executive has officially ceased its functions. The head of state is expected to appoint a new prime minister shortly, as provided for under the constitutional framework.
Pending this appointment and the formation of a new government team, the secretaries-general of the various ministries will handle day-to-day administrative affairs.
At the time of publication, no indication had been given regarding the timeline for the appointment of the future head of government.
The now-dissolved government had been established on October 28, 2025, following the appointment of Herintsalama Rajaonarivelo as prime minister on October 20, 2025. This appointment came three days after Michael Randrianirinawas sworn in as President of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar.
