The Ministry of the Interior and Decentralization, in a decree made public on January 24, has set the dates for filing candidacies for the March presidential election, as well as the documents required from each candidate.

"The period for submitting presidential candidacy declaration files for the election scheduled for March 12 and 15, 2026, opens on January 29 and closes on February 12 at midnight,” stated the Minister of the Interior, Raymond Zéphirin Mboulou, who signed the document.

According to the decree, any candidate for the presidential election must submit a legalized declaration of candidacy in four copies. The file must include a number of documents required by the Constitutional Court.
