The Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Karim Zidane, is representing His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the 17th U.S.-Africa Business Summit, which opened this Monday in Luanda, Angola.

Karim Zidane is leading a major delegation composed of leaders and senior officials from both the public and private sectors, including the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), the National Railway Office (ONCF), the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), as well as MEDZ, MARSA Maroc, and representatives from Moroccan banks.

Participation in this event, which is being held in the presence of several African Heads of State and high-ranking government officials from various countries, is in line with the High Directives of His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s economic partnerships with African countries and international partners.

It seeks to highlight the reforms undertaken by Morocco to enhance its economic attractiveness under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, particularly the implementation of the new Investment Charter, and to promote the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, the automotive industry, aerospace, agri-food, and green technologies.

As part of this partnership dynamic, Morocco is now positioning itself as a key player in global value chains, thanks to its privileged economic relations and structured, sustainable partnership with the United States, consolidated by the Free Trade Agreement in force since 2006. Indeed, the Kingdom is among the leading U.S. trading partners in Africa.

Held in the presence of more than 1,500 participants—including Heads of State, ministers, economic and political decision-makers, and private sector representatives—this Summit serves as a major platform for economic dialogue and the development of sustainable strategic partnerships between the United States and African countries.
