Former refugee in the United States, Nadia Mohammed has just been elected as the head of the St. Louis Park City Council in Minnesota, where she has become the first black Somali and Muslim mayor.

By securing 59% of the votes, Nadia Mohammed was overwhelmingly elected mayor of St. Louis Park. The city in the state of Minnesota where she arrived 18 years ago as a refugee.
