Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama officially launched the "One Million Coders" program on Wednesday in Accra, an ambitious initiative aimed at massively training young people in digital skills.
"This is not just a campaign promise fulfilled. It is a strategic pillar of our Ghana Reset Agenda, designed to equip Ghanaians with the digital skills essential for life and work in the 21st century," said the President during the launch ceremony.
The "One Million Coders" training initiative aims to equip the Ghanaian population with the necessary skills to drive the economy and create decent jobs.
President Mahama emphasized the importance of this initiative for the country’s economic future.
"This is a deliberate step towards building a knowledge-based economy and innovation, where our greatest resource – our people – is equipped to create solutions, generate jobs, and be competitive on the global stage," he said.
This program is part of Ghana's broader digital development strategy, which aims to position the country as a technological hub in West Africa.
