Gabonese President, General Brice Oligui Nguema, has unveiled a series of emergency energy measures aimed at strengthening the country's electricity production and distribution capacities.
“We have inherited a fragile system where infrastructures operate under strain, but I remain determined to improve access to electricity for all Gabonese,” declared General Oligui Nguema in a message posted on his social media.
The Gabonese president announced concrete and immediate measures to address the energy crisis.
Two new power generators of different capacities have been acquired: one with 1,500 megawatts and the other with 800 megawatts, representing a significant investment in the country's energy infrastructure.
In addition to these acquisitions, an agreement has been reached with a foreign operator for a short-term solution.
"An agreement has been concluded to supply 70 megawatts to Libreville within five days at a reduced cost," stated President Nguema, emphasizing the commitment to finding economically responsible solutions.
