The official logo of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) Morocco 2025 was unveiled on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the countdown to Africa's biggest sporting event, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Morocco sets the tone.

"The new logo, a modern and iconic symbol of African football, celebrates the heritage and unity of the African continent," stated the organization in a press release published on its website.

The final tournament of CAN, scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, in Morocco, will write a new chapter in the history of Africa's greatest sports spectacle, the same source added. The logo symbolizes pride, resilience, and hope, blending sport and art.

Inspired by Moroccan "zellij," a timeless mosaic art form, the tournament's logo redefines football as a canvas where creativity, precision, and passion come together, CAF highlighted. It further explained that "the CAN 2025 logo reflects the synergy between tradition and modernity, as each pattern and shape symbolizes the unity of nations, players, and fans, illustrating how football and art merge to create something extraordinary."

"Just as zellij pieces are meticulously crafted and assembled to create stunning designs, every moment in football builds towards a masterpiece of skill, teamwork, and triumph," CAF added.

"Fusing the geometry of football with the intricate craftsmanship of zellij, the logo captures the precision and movement of the game while honoring Africa's cultural heritage. It is a celebration of African craftsmanship and the beauty of football's dynamism," the statement continued.

CAF also noted that "CAN 2025 will be a living gallery of African football, where every pass, goal, and cheer from fans will contribute to the art of the game. It is more than a tournament; it is a stage where creativity, culture, and sport come together to showcase the soul of Africa to the world."

The draw for the final phase of CAN Morocco 2025 will take place this Monday, January 27, at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat.
