At the MEDays Forum, Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, voiced his support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and highlighted the opportunities presented by Morocco-Caribbean cooperation, especially in education and regional integration.

Firm Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity

Dickon Mitchell reaffirmed Morocco’s right to maintain its territorial integrity, expressing unwavering support for the initiatives led by King Mohammed VI. “We fully support the proposals of King Mohammed VI because we firmly believe that a peaceful approach will foster good neighborly relations and cooperation between African states, as well as with the Caribbean, Latin America, and South America,” he stated. He commended the King’s leadership, which he said strengthens intercontinental ties.

Morocco’s Role in Regional Integration

The Prime Minister underscored the importance of enhancing multilateral cooperation among African nations and countries of the Global South. He praised Morocco’s leadership in advancing these efforts:“Promoting and encouraging regional integration is essential, but someone must take the lead. We are pleased that King Mohammed VI and Morocco have embraced this responsibility wholeheartedly.”

Mitchell also highlighted the significance of international forums, which serve as platforms for leaders, experts, and professionals to collaborate. These forums, he noted, extend integration beyond politics and foster stronger connections between societies.

Concrete Opportunities for the Caribbean

The Prime Minister detailed the tangible benefits of Morocco’s cooperation with the Caribbean, such as the recently signed three-year roadmap with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita. This partnership includes scholarships for Caribbean students, enabling them to study in Morocco.

“When our students come to Morocco, they learn your language, immerse themselves in your culture, and experience the hospitality of your people. This not only strengthens cooperation but also fosters greater public support for King Mohammed VI’s initiatives,” Mitchell remarked.

Morocco as a Global Leader

In his concluding remarks, Dickon Mitchell praised Morocco as a leading nation in Africa, bringing opportunities not only to the continent but also to distant regions like the Caribbean. He emphasized the significance of Morocco’s leadership and its potential to serve as a model for international cooperation and regional integration.
