During Paris Fashion Week, Maxhosa Africa held a runway show on September 27, in a church in the French capital.

The collection, titled MAXHONAISSANCE RENAISSANCE, marks the second collection that Maxhosa Africa has presented in Paris, aiming to redefine perceptions of African fashion and luxury.

Laduma Ngxokolo, the brand's designer, envisions creating unique, contemporary pieces that could be worn by high-profile stars.

"I think of public figures like Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and of course, important heads of state who want to spend a weekend in Asia. But first and foremost, I see myself as my best client. I understand my own challenges and needs, and I aim to be more versatile in my clothing designs, so people can see my personality before selling them my products," Ngxokolo explained, as quoted by Africanews.

With this new collection, the designer drew inspiration from the Renaissance art movement.

Founded in 2010, Maxhosa Africa has remained true to its commitment to creating unique collections using traditional techniques from the Xhosa culture, one of South Africa’s largest ethnic groups.
