The Senegalese government has unveiled the National Development Strategy (SND 2025-2029) for the next five years. The new program, valued at approximately $31.5 billion, aims to "build a sovereign, just, and prosperous Senegal."

"The country will strive to become an endogenous economic model, based on territorial development hubs, with a focus on high-quality human capital, strengthening national stability, and promoting good governance in public action," stated the official Senegalese Press Agency (APS), citing an official document.

According to this document, the promotion of science and technological innovation, along with the development of adequate economic financing, are key pillars of the SND 2025-2029.

"The overarching goal of this systemic transformation strategy for Senegal, in its five-year phase, is to promote endogenous and sustainable development driven by empowered, viable, and competitive territories, laying the foundation for economic sovereignty,” APS reported.

The SND is built around four strategic pillars: a competitive economy, high-quality human capital and social equity, sustainable planning and development, and good governance with African engagement.
