Eighteen African men and women are featured in the annual ranking of the "Top 100 Health Leaders 2024" for the Middle East and North Africa region by Forbes Middle East.

Forbes' new ranking highlights the most influential leaders from the African region across various segments of the healthcare sector. This year’s Top 100 list includes 11 Egyptian leaders, making Egypt the most represented country, followed by Morocco.

The Egyptians featured in the ranking include Sherine Helmy (Pharco Pharmaceuticals), Sherif Beshara (American Hospital Dubai), Mohsen Mahgoub (Ibnsina Pharma), Riad Armanious (EVA Pharma), Ahmed Ezzeldin (Cleopatra Hospitals Group), Hend El-Sherbini (Integrated Diagnostics Holding), Mohamed Roushdy (Amoun Pharmaceutical Company), Fahad Khater (Alameda Healthcare Group), Ahmed Kelani (Egyptian International Pharmaceutical Industries Company), Ayman Mokhtar (Viatris), and Mohamed Mostafa (PDC-CRO).

For Morocco, the leaders are Lamia Tazi (Sothema), Ayman Cheikh-Lahlou (Cooper Pharma), and Driss Chaoui (Afric-Phar).

Valued at $226.97 billion in 2023, the healthcare landscape in the Middle East and North Africa is moving towards increased integration, with the rise of fully comprehensive ecological systems. This market is expected to reach $241.13 billion this year and peak at $412.25 billion by 2032, according to Fortune Business Insights.

Industry giants are placing big bets on future trends, supported by systems that thrive on abundant data, accessibility, and cross-sector collaboration.
