Having honed his skills with renowned developers such as Damac and Emaar, Tim Balgobin is dedicated to invigorating investment to and from the United Arab Emirates. His current position is strategic; he is a personal advisor and director of the office of Dubai's emir, Sheikh Ali Rashed Al Maktoum, after previously heading the office of Sheikh Ahmed Al Qassimi, a member of the royal family of Ras el Khaïmah. In this capacity, he successfully attracted new investors to the city from Dubai, America, Switzerland, and even Africa.
After working for 14 months for the Al Mualla family in Umm Al Quwain, contributing to the city's modernization through investment-focused advice, an unexpected call from Sheikh Ali Rashed Al Maktoum changed his life.
In April 2022, Balgobin is one of the key figures behind the African Billionaires Summit, scheduled to take place on April 17 and 18 at Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. This event will bring together African billionaires to highlight economic champions and foster the emergence of others. Its primary aim is to encourage billionaires to invest in innovative projects.
Through this summit, as well as other flagship events, Balgobin advocates for a shift in mindset towards Africa as a new frontier for promising investments.
