The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has irrevocably reconfirmed its verdict regarding the invalidity of the complaint filed by the Algerian Football Federation against the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane.

The Algerian Football Federation had appealed after an initial verdict by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in favor of Renaissance de Berkane. The African body had informed the Algerians that there was nothing illegal about the Moroccan club's jerseys. This has just been reconfirmed following the appeal.

Therefore, its decision is now irrevocable. For a long time, the jerseys that were the subject of the Algerian complaint have featured the design of the entire geographical map of the Kingdom on the front.

These are the same jerseys that the Berkanis wear everywhere they play in Africa in competitions not only governed by CAF but also by FIFA.

By seizing the jerseys of the Moroccan team after having extensively delayed their staff and players upon their arrival on Friday at the Algiers airport, the Algerian authorities turned the football match that was supposed to be between the Union Sportive of Algeria and its Moroccan counterpart from Berkane into a political confrontation.

A match they lost following the final CAF verdict.
