Starting from July 1, 2024, new judicial services will be digitized in Kenya. According to the Chief Justice, Martha Koome, the goal is to enhance productivity, automate processes, and establish a paperless environment, making justice in Kenya more accessible and reducing geographical barriers.
"I have launched electronic filing for all courts in the country, a data tracking dashboard, and a case portal, marking a giant step in our commitment to transforming the way we deliver justice through the strategic use of technology, in line with the Judiciary’s Social Transformation Through Access to Justice (STAJ) plan," said Martha Koome, adding that "no court should print any procedural documents or paperwork starting from July 1, 2024. The resources allocated for purchasing printing paper will be used to buy desktop and laptop computers.
