Liverpool are already planning ahead to strengthen their midfield and have reportedly added Lamine Camara to their list of potential targets. According to Florian Plettenberg, the Senegalese AS Monaco midfielder is among the players being monitored by the Reds as they look to reinforce their midfield options.
At 22, the Diouloulou-born player possesses an attractive profile thanks to his technical ability, ball-winning skills and capacity to contribute to attacking play. These qualities could help him adapt to the demands of the Premier League, known for its intensity and physicality.
Camara Among Several Liverpool Targets
However, the Senegalese international is reportedly not the only player being considered by the English club. Alex Scott, who plays for Bournemouth, is also among the options being explored to strengthen central midfield. Borussia Dortmund's Félix Nmecha is another player believed to be admired by Liverpool, although he is not considered a priority at this stage.
Liverpool are therefore exploring several possibilities before identifying the players best suited to their needs. Lamine Camara remains among those being monitored, but no agreement or concrete approach to Monaco has been confirmed in the available reports.
Monaco Hold a Strong Position
Under contract with AS Monaco until June 30, 2029, the Senegalese international could prove to be an expensive target for interested clubs. His market value is estimated at €55 million by Transfermarkt, although this figure does not necessarily reflect the asking price set by his club.
Monaco could therefore adopt a firm stance amid growing interest in their midfielder. The Principality club are keen to retain their key players, while potential interest from Liverpool could fuel further speculation about the Senegalese international's future.
In terms of salary, Lamine Camara reportedly earns around €1.38 million per year, equivalent to approximately 897 million CFA francs, according to the reported figures. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will decide to make a concrete move to bring him to England.
Meanwhile, the Reds are set to face Chelsea in the EFL Cup round of 16. The fixture forms part of their competitive schedule as discussions over potential squad reinforcements continue.
