Lamine Camara could be the subject of renewed Premier League interest after his proposed move to Chelsea collapsed in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
The Senegal international, currently at AS Monaco, is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.
Liverpool Monitoring Camara
According to journalist David Lynch, cited by Anfield Index, Liverpool have been monitoring Camara’s situation and could consider making a move this winter.
The 22-year-old midfielder had come close to joining Chelsea during the summer. He reportedly held talks with the London club over his prospective role and was open to the move.
Monaco, however, ultimately decided to keep Camara, bringing negotiations to an end late in the window and leaving Chelsea with little time to pursue an alternative.
January Move Could Be on the Cards
Liverpool’s interest could reopen the transfer saga in January. The Reds reportedly view Camara as a player worth following and could test Monaco’s resolve if they decide to strengthen their midfield.
Any deal, however, could come at a significant price.
Chelsea were reportedly prepared to pay around €55 million for Camara in the summer, while Monaco could demand as much as €70 million for a January transfer.
According to Transfermarkt figures, Camara’s market value currently stands at €40 million. His annual salary is estimated at around €1.38 million, or nearly 897 million CFA francs.
After missing out on a move to Chelsea, Camara could therefore have another opportunity to reach the Premier League, with Liverpool emerging as a potential destination.
