PSV Eindhoven have moved to secure the future of one of their most promising Moroccan talents. The Dutch club have extended Amir Bouhamdi’s contract until mid-2031, underlining their confidence in the 18-year-old winger.
Bouhamdi joined PSV from Roda JC in the summer of 2017 and has steadily progressed through the club’s academy ranks. He now plays mainly for Jong PSV, the reserve team, while regularly training and featuring with the first-team squad.
His potential is already beginning to show at senior level.
Following his contract extension, the young winger expressed his satisfaction, describing the new deal as an important step in his career. He intends to continue working on his development, improving his game and establishing himself in the first team.
PSV sporting director Earnest Stewart also praised Bouhamdi’s progress, personality and professionalism, describing him as an inspiration to younger players in the academy.
According to Stewart, the Moroccan youngster has also handled the growing attention surrounding his performances with maturity. PSV therefore intend to give him the time he needs to continue developing, believing that patience and consistency could pave the way for a bright future.
With his contract now extended until 2031, Bouhamdi has a stable platform from which to continue his rise and potentially establish himself as one of the future faces of PSV.
