Cooperation between Guinea and Morocco is entering a new phase. Meeting on Tuesday in Conakry for the 8th session of the Joint Cooperation Commission, the two sides signed 25 agreements covering several strategic sectors, including the economy, health, agriculture, energy and education.
Co-chaired by Guinea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Morissanda Kouyaté, and his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, the meeting aimed to give new momentum to bilateral relations and strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
Discussions focused in particular on the state of existing cooperation and prospects for deepening it. Conakry and Rabat reaffirmed their determination to further develop their economic and trade exchanges, as well as strengthen their collaboration in the areas of development and South-South cooperation.
Beyond the signing of the agreements, the meeting also provided an opportunity to highlight Guinea’s major structural projects. The Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed Morocco’s readiness to contribute to the implementation of the "Simandou 2040” programme, a broad development vision promoted by Conakry.
For his part, Morissanda Kouyaté welcomed the presence of the Consulate General of Guinea in Dakhla, presented as a symbol of the solidarity and depth of relations between the two countries.
Through this new session of their joint commission, Guinea and Morocco are thus demonstrating their determination to transform their diplomatic closeness into concrete cooperation in key sectors, with the ambition of further consolidating their economic and strategic partnership.
