Congolese Prime Minister Anatole Collinet Makosso on Monday presented the government's roadmap for the next five years before the National Assembly. The ambitious program is built around ten strategic priorities aimed at accelerating the country's development and improving the living conditions of its people.
The key priorities include increasing financial resource mobilization, strengthening human capital, tackling administrative inefficiencies, reviving the economy, promoting agriculture and industry, creating jobs, expanding infrastructure, fostering innovation, protecting social rights, and preserving the environment.
The government’s plan also outlines six major areas of action, including security, public administration modernization, territorial planning, domestic trade, tourism, and economic diplomacy.
"A country that wants to move forward can no longer be satisfied with merely surviving. Citizens now expect tangible results in their daily lives," the Prime Minister said, stressing the need to address the Congolese people's expectations regarding purchasing power, healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
According to Anatole Collinet Makosso, twenty priority missions will guide government action over the new five-year term. The first is to strengthen public revenues in order to finance development policies. The remaining missions focus on investing in human capital, diversifying the economy, promoting agriculture and industry, creating employment opportunities, and supporting scientific research and innovation.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the urgent challenges facing the population, citing shortages of water, electricity, and fuel, soaring food prices, the high cost of living, and rising crime in both urban and rural areas.
Reaffirming that these concerns are at the heart of government action, he pledged to deliver concrete results and implement the President’s vision and priorities for the next five years.
