Morocco continues its rise in the FIFA Women’s World Ranking published on April 21, 2026. Now ranked 62nd globally after gaining four places, the Atlas Lionesses are asserting themselves as the highest-ranked Arab nation and are closing in on Africa’s top teams, dominated by Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana.

The latest FIFA women’s ranking highlights a certain stability at the top globally, with Spain still leading, ahead of the United States and England.

On the African continent, the trio of Nigeria (36th worldwide), South Africa (58th), and Ghana (59th) maintains its dominance.

Behind these leaders, Morocco stands out by reaching 62nd place globally with 1,402.88 points. This progress is largely driven by encouraging recent results, including a victory against Tanzania and a draw against Mali.

Senegal is also gaining ground, now ranked 80th worldwide and 9th in Africa, confirming its growing competitiveness.

In the Arab world, Morocco maintains its leadership, ahead of Algeria (73rd), as well as Tunisia and Egypt.

Finally, other African teams, such as Côte d’Ivoire and Benin, continue to improve, aiming to close the gap with the continent’s top sides.
