Ayra Starr has released a new single titled "Where Do We Go,” marking her first musical release of the year. The Nigerian afropop star continues her rise on the international music scene.
Released under Mavin Records and produced by ILYA, the track blends afropop sounds, dynamic percussion, and pronounced bass lines.
The song explores romantic relationships, carried by Ayra Starr’s distinctive voice over a rhythmic and modern production.
This new track follows the release of "Who’s Dat Girl,” a collaboration with Nigerian artist Rema unveiled last October. In recent years, Ayra Starr has established herself as one of the leading figures in contemporary African music.
Nominated twice at the Grammy Awards and honored at the MOBO Awards, the artist has experienced remarkable international expansion. Her catalog now totals more than seven billion streams across all platforms, as well as over one billion views on YouTube.
Among her biggest hits is the song "Rush,” which has surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify.
This track helped make her the first African female artist to have two songs surpass 500 million streams on the platform.
More recently, she was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Grammy Awards for the single "Gimme Dat,” recorded in collaboration with Wizkid.
During this period, she also won two MOBO Awards and was named Best African Artist, becoming the first female singer to receive the distinction in 16 years. She also won the award for Best International Act at the BET Awards.
