Togo is planning to develop a second industrial park, following the launch of the Adétikopé Industrial Platform in June 2021.

The future logistics hub will be located in Agbélouvé, about 65 kilometers north of Lomé. A consultation meeting on the project was opened on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, by the Ministry Delegate in charge of Investment Promotion and Economic Sovereignty, in collaboration with GIZ.

Although the project is still at the pre-feasibility study stage, the two-day meeting brings together various stakeholders to discuss the structuring and management of industrial parks. Discussions focus in particular on design mechanisms, governance models, and operational frameworks for industrial zones, with the aim of aligning the project with international standards and best practices.

Participants are reviewing the key steps required to establish a high-performing industrial park: defining the business model, exploring financing options, setting up institutional arrangements, enhancing investor attractiveness, managing shared services, and ensuring compliance with environmental and social standards.

The project is part of Togo’s broader strategy to create a new growth hub capable of boosting investment, strengthening national competitiveness, and accelerating industrialization. The country also intends to build on the experience gained from the Adétikopé Industrial Platform, with the ambition of eventually developing an integrated eco-industrial park.

According to Ludovic Bédinadé, Chief of Staff at the Ministry in charge of Investment Promotion, “adopting the eco-industrial park model reflects Togo’s ambition to position itself among the new generation of African industrial economies: attractive, responsible, and mindful of present and future generations,” as reported by Togo First.

In this context, Togo could benefit from support from Germany. Johannes Klotz, Head of Cooperation at the German Embassy in Togo, stated that his country is ready to assist the Togolese government in improving service delivery and institutional frameworks to meet international standards and promote sustainable investment.
