According to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic and Demographic Studies (INSEED), Togo’s economy remained well-oriented in the third quarter of 2025, with activity supported by industry and services.

Based on quarterly national accounts, real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 6.3% year-on-year during the period, following a growth rate of 7.1% recorded in the second quarter. In nominal terms, GDP reached 1,840.6 billion CFA francs (approximately 3.3 billion US dollars), compared to 1,729.2 billion CFA francs in the same period in 2024. Over the first nine months of the year, the cumulative total amounted to 4,876.1 billion CFA francs, compared with 4,586.1 billion a year earlier.

The secondary sector stood out with a 9.1% increase in its gross value added. The extractive industry posted a 16.6% rise, while construction surged by 22.9%. Manufacturing activities also recorded notable performances, particularly textiles and clothing ( 43%) and the production of construction materials ( 56.5%).

The primary sector grew by 4%, driven by agriculture, livestock, and forestry ( 4.7%). Meanwhile, the tertiary sector recorded growth of 4.9%, supported by information and communication ( 15.3%), transport and warehousing ( 18.6%), as well as health and social services ( 31.2%).

Short-term indicators confirm this momentum. The industrial production index increased by about 11% over the first ten months of 2025. Turnover indices showed rises of 19.1% in trade, 14.8% in construction, and 5.9% in non-financial market services.

Fourth-quarter results, expected in the coming weeks, will make it possible to establish a provisional estimate of annual GDP for 2025, according to INSEED officials.
