Upon the Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, President of the Al-Qods Committee, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, proceeded on Thursday, in Davos, Switzerland, to the signing of the Constitutive Charter of the Peace Council, during a ceremony presided over by the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

This signing follows the acceptance by His Majesty the King to join, as a Founding Member, this initiative proposed by the President of the United States of America, aimed at "contributing to peace efforts in the Middle East and adopting a new approach to resolving conflicts worldwide.”

Morocco and Bahrain were the first two countries to sign the Charter, after which President Trump announced that the Charter had officially entered into force, marking the formal establishment of the Peace Council.

The signing ceremony of the Charter of the Peace Council, held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, was attended by around twenty Heads of State and Government, as well as Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the signatory countries, notably Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Azerbaijan and Argentina.

Participation in this Council is limited to a select group of internationally prominent leaders, committed to promoting a secure and prosperous future for coming generations. This invitation constitutes a recognition of the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King and of His stature as a key and indispensable actor for peace.
