Marrakech will host the second edition of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Business Forum on December 11 and 12.
Held under the theme "Together for an Efficient Implementation of the AfCFTA,” the second edition of the Business Forum in Marrakech is organized by the State Secretariat in charge of Foreign Trade, in partnership with the AfCFTA, the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX), the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and the Association of Moroccan Regions (ARM).
According to the organizers, the event is part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to accelerate the implementation of the AfCFTA at both national and regional levels.
The forum also reflects Morocco’s commitment to strengthening mechanisms that promote free trade and sustainable economic integration among African countries, the statement added.
This edition further highlights Morocco’s consistent pan-African ambition, aiming to position the Kingdom as a key player in enhancing multidimensional cooperation among African nations and as a proactive, indispensable partner within the continent, according to the same source.
According to the organizers, the forum seeks to establish a structured dialogue around the strategic role of the free trade area as a driver of the continent’s economic transformation. It also aims to mobilize all African countries to accelerate implementation and achieve the goals of the agreement by boosting intra-African trade, supporting exports, and attracting investment in order to build a resilient and globally competitive African economy.
Considered a lever for economic development, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is a strategic project aimed at creating a single market bringing together 54 African states, with a combined GDP of more than 3.4 trillion dollars.
