Guinea-Bissau and The Gambia have signed a security agreement on the occasion of Gambian President Adama Barrow’s official visit to Bissau.

The agreement was signed by the security ministers of both countries, in the presence of the Heads of State — Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau and Adama Barrow of The Gambia — during a ceremony held at the Bissau-Guinean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Communities.

The deal aims to deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of security. It follows a recently concluded agreement in the communications sector, under which both countries committed to strengthening their collaboration in training and content exchange.

The agenda of this visit also includes discussions on other topics of common interest, with the goal of further consolidating relations between these two neighboring West African countries.
