Théodora, a 21 year-old Franco-Congolese singer, has become the second most-streamed French-speaking female artist in France, just behind Aya Nakamura and ahead of Céline Dion.
Born in 2003 in Lucerne, Switzerland, under the name Lili Théodora Mbangayo Mujinga, she grew up in a Congolese family marked by political exile. Her journey has been shaped by multiple relocations — from Greece to the Congo, then to France. These movements have nurtured a plural identity and a unique, diverse artistic sensitivity. Although her first dream was politics, music eventually became her mode of expression, largely thanks to her brother Jeez Suave, a composer and her early collaborator.
Her media explosion came in 2024 with the track "Kongolese sous BBL”, an irresistible blend of Caribbean rhythm, Afro, rap, and pop, fueled by viral success on TikTok. With bold visuals, provocative lyrics, and unapologetic identity affirmation, the artist bet everything on this track, which was certified diamond in France, catapulting Theodora into both national and international playlists.
Her debut album, Bad Boy Lovestory, released in November 2024, confirmed her talent. In May 2025, she unveiled an ambitious reissue titled Mega Bbl, enriched with prestigious collaborations featuring Jul, Guy2Bezbar, Juliette Armanet, and Chilly Gonzales. The project, already certified gold and on track for platinum, includes three gold singles and one diamond, cementing her position among the most listened-to artists of the year.
