Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye has extended his contract with Everton until June 2026, with an option for an additional season, the English club announced on Monday, July 7.

At 34, the most capped player in Senegal’s history is coming off a successful 2024/25 season. He has been with Everton since 2016, apart from a stint at PSG between 2019 and 2022.

Gana Gueye reaffirmed his deep connection to the club: “Everton is more than a club to me, it’s a part of my life,” according to the African Press Agency.

Coach David Moyes, keen to retain the veteran's experience, played a key role in the negotiations. He counts on Gueye to help guide the transition to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium and mentor the younger midfielders.

Everton, who finished 13th in the Premier League last season, hopes to rely on the Senegalese player’s consistency and commitment as they approach the 2025-2026 season with ambition.
