Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday in Riyadh its intention to expand its diplomatic presence on the African continent with the opening of 40 embassies in the coming years, and to invest $25 billion across Africa.

Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed ElKhereiji also shared the Kingdom's ambition to support $10 billion in exports to Africa and to mobilize an additional $5 billion for financing development projects by 2030.

Speaking during Africa Day celebrations, ElKhereiji emphasized that the Kingdom is committed to strengthening its cooperation and partnership with African countries, particularly in economic and diplomatic spheres.

He highlighted Riyadh’s desire to increase trade exchanges and to reinforce coordination in international forums around shared priorities.

African countries, he concluded, hold a central place in Saudi Arabia’s foreign policy, which values their spirit of cooperation.
