The Ethiopian government is projecting a growth rate of 8.9% for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, which begins on July 8, announced Finance Minister Ahmed Shide.

He also revealed that the government has proposed a record annual budget of 14.14 billion US dollars for the 2025/2026 fiscal year.

With regard to investment expenditures, they are expected to amount to 3.04 billion dollars, while an envelope of 102 million dollars will be allocated to the regions to help them achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, he added.

The minister further emphasized that the 2025/2026 budget aims specifically to support the macroeconomic reforms launched last July in the country.
