Women entrepreneurs will hold a series of “reflection and action” meetings from June 25 to 28, 2025, at the Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex, as part of the 2nd edition of the National Women’s Entrepreneurship Fair (SNEF).

Supported by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Handicrafts (Ccima), the Fasfecam initiative is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, the Ministry of Social Economy and Handicrafts, and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family.

This 2nd edition of the SNEF is held under the theme: “How to boost the competitiveness and productivity of local women-led businesses, in order to conquer local and intra-African markets.”

The organizers expect at least 100 exhibitors at the fair, which is presented as a platform to celebrate and strengthen the participation of women in the local economy, and to advocate for greater involvement of women in driving Cameroon’s productive sector.

According to government data, women own 38% of businesses in Cameroon, with a strong presence in very small enterprises (39%), and a lower representation in large companies (14%). They hold 43% of leadership positions, mainly in very small businesses (44%), compared to just 18% in large firms.

However, despite this entrepreneurial momentum among women in Cameroon, they face significant challenges in growing their businesses.

The main obstacle remains access to financing.
