Guinea-Bissau and Chad have signed several cooperation agreements in Bissau on the occasion of the state visit of Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno.

On this occasion, the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, and his Chadian counterpart held a meeting aimed at strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, according to a statement from the Presidency of Guinea-Bissau relayed by media outlets.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized strategic partnerships in the fields of mining, trade, defense, and security, before proceeding with the signing of multiple agreements.

The Chadian President's state visit to Guinea-Bissau comes two days after the visit of Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to the West African country.
