A mem.orandum of understanding was signed on May 20 in Rabat between the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention, and Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC) and the High Authority for Good Governance of Côte d'Ivoire (HABG).
This memorandum of understanding aims to institutionalize cooperation between the two parties in the areas of corruption prevention and the promotion of integrity and transparency in public management. It was signed by the president of INPPLC, Mohamed Benalilou, and the president of HABG, Zoro Bi Ballo Epiphane.
In practical terms, the cooperation will focus on the exchange of experiences between the two institutions, the implementation of joint awareness activities, and the organization of training on best practices in the fight against corruption. It will also involve contributing to the creation of an African network of similar institutions working toward the establishment of responsible governance in different African countries.
"The signing of this memorandum of understanding 'consolidates the African dimension of cooperation in such an important and sensitive field as the fight against corruption,'" said Mohamed Benalilou, specifying that the goal is to institutionalize this cooperation and establish mechanisms for the exchange of experiences and successful initiatives, which will serve as an additional pillar to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in this area.
For his part, Bi Ballo Epiphane highlighted that this document lays the foundation for bilateral cooperation in the fight against corruption, including in the areas of economic and financial crime, focusing on the sharing of experiences and data exchange.
