British monarch King Charles III has expressed his admiration for Nigerian singer Davido, revealing that his music made him fall in love with Pidgin English.
In the new Apple Music show The King’s Music Room, King Charles shared his musical preferences and mentioned “Kante”, a song by Davido featuring Fave, among his favorite tracks.
“Davido made me love Pidgin. I’d love to speak with him the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it is becoming increasingly popular worldwide,” the British sovereign remarked. He also expressed his desire to learn and speak Pidgin English during his next visit to Nigeria, highlighting his growing appreciation for Afrobeats culture and music.
In response to this statement, Davido shared the video on his Instagram Story, adding a message to the British royal family.
