Samuel Eto'o will retain his position as the head of the Cameroonian Football Federation, following the decision of the members of the Executive Committee of the organization who rejected his resignation.

Eto'o had tendered his resignation following the poor performance of the national team during the Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d'Ivoire.

The Indomitable Lions were eliminated in the round of 16 after their defeat against Nigeria.

The former soccer star seemed willing to fully assume his role in Cameroon's debacle during the continental tournament.

The leader also strongly advised the members of the Federal Bureau to follow suit and resign, faapa reports.
