The Prime Minister of Ivory Coast, Minister of Sports and Living Environment, Robert Beugré Mambé, has inaugurated the first photovoltaic solar power plant in Ivory Coast, which is also the largest in West Africa

Located in Boundiali. With a capacity of 37.5 Megawatt-peak (MWp), the first phase of the Ivorian solar plant, touted as the largest in West Africa, spans 36 hectares. The second phase will extend over 42 hectares.

This project is part of the energy transition towards clean and sustainable energy. It is also a means of combating global warming, from which many African countries suffer the most effects.

"I am convinced that this infrastructure is, without a doubt, a source of socio-economic development with several direct and indirect job opportunities," Robert Beugré Mambé stated.

The Boundiali solar plant will facilitate the electrification of villages, supply electricity to 430,000 households, and save 27,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
