The Zambian government and the European Union (EU) have just signed two agreements totaling 110 million euros.

The newly concluded agreements between the EU and Zambia are dedicated to promoting and developing the educational sector.

The first agreement, worth 60 million euros, aims to improve access, quality, equity, and inclusion in primary and secondary education. It involves strengthening public financial management within the educational system.

The second agreement, worth 50 million euros, focuses on improving education and early childhood development (ECED) in the Luapula and North-Western provinces of Zambia.

The agreements were signed by the Zambian Minister of Education, Douglas Syakalima, and the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, at the "Global Gateway" education event.

"The government is aware that investing in free education is crucial for promoting human capital and enhancing the competitiveness of the population in the future," said Douglas Syakalima.
