Named GAIHDE-SAT-1A, Senegal's first satellite is ready for launch. This satellite has already been successfully integrated into an Exolaunch deployer in the United States.

Designed and manufactured by engineers and technicians from the country, grouped around the SENSAT SÉNÉGAL project in collaboration with the Space Center of the University of Montpellier (CSUM) in France, GAINDESAT1A's mission is to collect and transmit environmental data.

GAIHDE-SAT-1A will be launched from France, and operations will also commence soon.

The project, which has already had a four-year incubation period, is fully sponsored by the Senegalese government and involves local students, about ten engineers, and five technicians.

The satellite will enable the collection of data and images through sensors distributed throughout the Senegal region.
