The names of the three finalists for the 2024 Marc-Vivien Foé prize have been unveiled. This award recognizes the best African footballer who played in Ligue 1 during the 2023-2024 season. The trio of finalists includes:

Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain)

A full-back with great attacking ability, Hakimi is famous for his rapid surges down the flanks and his precise passing. His defensive and offensive skills make him very valuable to PSG.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Olympique de Marseille)

Known for his speed and efficiency in front of goal, Aubameyang has already made his mark in several major European clubs. The return of this Gabonese player to Ligue 1 has been highlighted by decisive goals and impressive performances.

Nabil Bentaleb (Lille)

A versatile midfielder, the Algerian Bentaleb is appreciated for his ability to control the pace of the game and his constructive aggression in midfield. His game vision and technical skills make him crucial for Lille.

Declared a favorite by various specialized sites, Hakimi could be the fourth Lion of the Atlas to win this award after Marouane Chamakh (2009), Younès Belhanda (2012), and Sofiane Boufal (2016).

Since 2011, the trophy has been named after Marc-Vivien Foé in tribute to the Cameroonian player who passed away on June 26, 2003, on the pitch at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon.

The winner's name will be announced on May 13.
